Pakistan women’s cricket team on Monday beat West Indies by
eight wickets at Seddon Park, registering a first win in the ICC Women’s World
Cup since 2009. Pakistan did show well in this world cup and at bottom of the
points table.
Team Pakistan chased down the modest target of 89 runs by losing
only two wickets. Pakistani bowlers gave an impressive performance Nida dar
took wickets in four overs and conceded 10 runs only.
Only three West Indies players were able to cross the double-digit
with Deandra Dottin as the top scorer who made 27 runs.
For victorious Pakistan, Muneeba Ali smashed powerful 37 before
Captain Bismah Maroof and Omaima Sohail built a partnership of 33 runs. Pakistan
gained victory after losing 18 games losing streak.
Pakistan women team does not get enough support. Beside all the odds, playing in the world cup is itself an achievement. I heartly congratulate our women team for their first win.
